2023 Georgia Romance Author of the Year
Kim Conrey is the author of the sci-fi romance series Ares Ascending and the urban fantasy, Nicholas Eternal, Book One of the Wayward Saviors series. She’s also the recipient of the Georgia Author of the Year Award for Romance.
When she’s not writing novels, she writes a blog about living with OCD at HarmOCDKimConrey.com.
You can also find her marching in Atlanta’s Dragon Con parade as a Box Hero Wonder Woman—you’d be shocked what an artist can do with cardboard! 👸🏻💥
Kim also serves as VP of Operations for the Atlanta Writers Club.
In addition, she collaborates on a podcast with the Wild Women Who Write where they interview authors and industry professionals with a primary goal of supporting female writers.

I discuss Stealing Ares and the OCD memoir that I co-authored with my daughter on a variety of podcasts. However, the podcast I’m on most often, is the Wild Women Who Write Take Flight, where we interview authors and industry professionals to gain their knowledge and expertise with an aim of helping other female writers. Her first novel, The Big Free, follows an idealistic young doctor during her first six months of internship at the renowned hospital. The Unfettered Urologist, her nonfiction book, includes what she wishes she could have told her patients but never had time to do so. In March, her follow-up to The Big Free, Mother Charity releases. Join us as we discuss how authors can provide a valuable service to their readers through neurodiverse characters and learn more about internationally acclaimed Susan Crawford, author of The Pocket Wife and The Other Widow. In The Pocket Wife, Crawford creates a protagonist who suffers from bi-polar disorder. When her neighbor is murdered, readers see the world through her point of view and feel her urgency as she tries to prove her innocence before she spirals into psychosis. Gaby Anderson's quirky main character in South of Happily reluctantly enters therapy. Her sessions are touching and often funny. In her novel The Unreliables Katherine Nichols develops a character who is an author suffering from severe depression which leads to visits from the fictional character she created. Kim Conrey, Georgia Author of the Year, tackles MERLD, a language processing disorder where children have difficulty expressing themselves and understanding what other people say to them. In her sci-fi romance, her character Harlow Hansen suffers from this disorder. Her issue doesn't stop her from being the Robin Hood who saves her fellow Mars colonists.
